How to make your own water level

Wasze zdanie:
  • Great vid! and proof of our stationary earth. all water holds the secrets. water is level. oceans are level. We live on a plane, not a planet. Now that might shock most people at first.. but search your souls. the truth is rising to the 'surface'. peace.
  • use red food coloring, it has no poison like anti freeze
  • I'd never heard of that before. That was really interesting. Thanks for sharing that information.
  • Very cool Jay! I've never heard of this type of a level before, I'm excited to learn how to use it. I grew up using lasers and transits...then moved to GPS. haha Someday, these fancy electronics may not work so well....if you know what I mean? :) Nice video brotha. Wayne3
  • Yep, I've done that as well. It is also very good. I like this better primarily because it is a one man operation. Looking forward to your video.
  • This will be an excellent level to use, Rob. If you are leveling out for a fish farm you will probably need as perfect as possible and it is easy. I laid out a 1500 meter soffit around the outside of a building with this. At the end, when they shot it in with a transit there was no place that was more then 1/8 inch (about 3 millimeters) out of level. Anyone as smart as you to set up what you have probably doesn't need instructions but in the next few days I will have a vid showing how I use it.
  • Was just thinking how I was going to make one up tom level out the fish farm area.. Cheers Jay..
  • Have used lasers on the job sites. sometimes they are good and quick and convenient. I found them great for small tasks. Problem is they have a built in tolerance and are sensitive. dropping them or a good bump can increase it. The people on each stage think they also have a tolerance and when inspection comes it is sometimes way off. Transits are optimal but not feasible for full layout on the Jobs I did. I used a transit to establish a benchmark. Next vid I'll talk a bit of my experiences.
  • I begin to sense some contours of the final product, but I`m looking foreward to see if it turns out to be the same. :) I like to watch "home made" videos. Developing our creativity is one of the best "workouts" there is! :) Cheers Halvor.
  • I have a collection of levels laser old transit all good stuff. But the string and the water level never lie plumb Bob either as long as its not windy. But if your trying to level across to somewhere not in line of site only a water level works used them to set about 160 mobiles now I'm a fan I use antifreeze
  • One of the reasons I decided to show this is that it can help people to mark out larger raised beds quickly. One method I intend to show will help them to grade the land with a slight slope for drainage. Lots of people have had problems this year. thought this would help.
  • Awesome! I can´t wait until you show how to use it...! :)
  • Thanks, Halvor. I hope to have more "homemade" videos soon.
  • Lot's of uses and application for this. Handy for everyone to have around.
  • I used laser, too, but mostly for vertical. I always started the day with field calibrating. Packages always said "accurate to 1/8" to 1/4"within 25'". Sometimes 50'.That isn't too bad. but then factor in the laser could get bumped out and you have a crew that doesn't pay attention. Both have happened to me. Prefer to do all layout personally as accurate as possible to make it stupid proof. Have found fish line on a heavy bob reduces the wind factor. Antifreeze sounds like a good idea.
